Dustbin Ferret

Recently, sometimes Nana escapes from her cage. The cage is quite old, perhaps I'll have to buy a new one. When she is freed, she strolls about my working room, and ends up to plunge into dustbin. Somehow many ferrets I've had in the past do that, and then dig into the contents.

In the pic under, she's interested in an dictionary, and perhaps try to take it to her "base". Like crows, ferrets tend to collect favourite things under the bed etc...

My Cat Me-ke, at least 18 yo

This is Me-ke some times ago.
18 years has passed since Me-ke came my home carrying 7 or 8 kittens.
Although she's got FUS, she's still well, demands many things she wants us to do. The oldest cat at a vet we're going is 20yo.

Let's hope she will live that long !

Ferret Short Film! "Jake & Jasper"

Jake-Jasper-A-Ferret-Tale

It's been about 10 years since I had ferrets as my pet. I haven't seen any movie about them. Now, this project from Canada is in progress.

As in the promotion video, to rent animals is expensive. It's a pleasure to see that fund is piled up every day.

The problem is, to watch this, the region codes are different between Japan and Canada....

Long Goodbye

...And I'm back.

The ferret I wished a long live, Taru, has recently passed away in April, in the midst of quake and disaster shock. He became thinner and weaker every day, still his will for living persisted. He used to curled up just next to me, feeling my body temperature and napped.

About 5.5 years long life.

R.I.P.

When Taru was still well and after Nene had gone, I met two ferrets at my nearby pet store. Both were not tamed and bit human. But I was interested one of them, whitish "cinnamon" girl from New Zealand. Her legs and tail were cinnamon brown, and on her back there was a brush of brown fur.

She eventually came to my home as new partner of Taru, and they got very well. Named Nana. No relation of Japanese word of "7".

Recently in Japan, a book called "The ferret" was published (in Japanese). In the book, photos were collected from ferret owners. Among the pics I've sent, this was selected.

On purchase, Nana destroyed her paper box she was in  just within 10 minutes. What a girl ! She bit me hard first but soon understood, licked me instead of biting. Animals sometimes cannot distinguish the two.

Anyway, now Nana is alone in her cage, still 2.5 yo.

Running With Taru

Every morning after waking up, he happily comes to me when "Taru, run with me?"

We ran through winding corridor again and again. When I run, Taru follows. tktktk....sounds his feet. This is carried on either is bored.

I still don't know why my fuzzies love this.

El Commandante

Went to see the cinema. Fidel Castro's interview shooted by Oliver Stone.
Usually, I do love interviews. It's a good chance for observing people.

However, interview can be good or bad depending on interviewee. I slightly had tint of anxiety because of the director.

This film unveils unknown part of Fidel, though isn't it a terrible question to ask him "What do you think of viagra?"

As the translator is working with Fidel for 30 years, she might be making up some of the translation, or talking instead of Fidel....as she knows what Fidel feels. As simultaneous translation was voiced over and irritating(I know little of Spanish), I couldn't stay until the end.
